I have been doing my art digitally for many years now. I am by no means what one might call a tech genius. The fact of the matter is that I always have used what I would consider simple and basic approaches to creating my images. My favorite art form was and to an extent still is water color. Today I tend to use tint colors from the digital menu. That lets me play with the see through element that I enjoy. I never expected that I would add photography to my bag of tricks, but to my own surprise I have. It just happened one day while I was about to print some photos to send to my dear mother. I had taken a couple of close up pictures of some of the plants on my property. As I viewed them on my screen I became interested in their form. I threw them into my Painter program and played with them. I altered the colors and did some fun things like highpassing and negative operations. It was just a casual aside for me. Suddenly I realized a geometric attribute to the images. I started rotating and duplicating. Presto, a wonder happened before my own eyes. The once simple photo had become an abstraction. It reminded me of the many Persian rugs that I had always loved. It is funny how one stumbles upon things. I now am totally immersed in creating these very lovely images...at least in my view. Art is in the beholder's eye. I enjoy doing it. What else can one seek but loving the time one spends in this life. I hope that you the audience feel something from my art.
