I often question myself..."is this, what I am doing worthy art?". It is something that I stumbled upon to be honest. I remember once looking at another artist's work at an exhibit he was having on Maui. His images were pleasing to look at. I found out that he had done in order to actualize these works was to take photographs and then project them on his canvas. He then painted upon the canvas as it be filling in the image with oils. Was this art? I now think yes. No one else had taken the photo and none other produced the final result.
I may be repeating myself now but that is okay. Walking about my property, I was taking photos that I wanted to send off to my acquaintances. As I viewed them myself I realized that there was a way in which I might rearrange them. I threw them into my favorite program called Painter. I started to use some of its elements to alter the colors. It was fun and full of surprises. Drawing on my own particular liking of certain colors I started to see new images. In reality they were my own begotten of my mind's eye and excitingly new. As with all things I began to refine as well as catalog the steps I had taken. In a way it was a honing of craft. So it is the end product that I serve up to the world. I hope for nothing other then putting them out there for as many to see as possible.
This started as a photo of Ti leaves. It is now part of my "Madness" series.....Enjoy
